WLWA’s new Councillors confirmed
Following the local elections in May, the six Councillors who will run the West London Waste Authority have been appointed. There is one elected member from each of our six partner boroughs – Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond. All of the Councillors have responsibility for recycling, waste and other environmental issues in their home borough, as well as with the Authority
They will attend 5 meetings a year and make strategic decisions about a number of issues including award of contracts and setting budgets. You can see some of the decisions they’ll be making over the next few months in our forward plan.
The first meeting with the new members took place on Friday 27th June. At that meeting they elected a Chair and Vice-Chair. Councillor Bassam Mahfouz from Ealing remains the Chair of the Authority with Councillor Amritpal Mann from Hounslow becomes the Vice-Chair.
