Simple steps to a slimmer bin – forever!
Ever get confused about what can be recycled? Not enough space to sort your waste? Fed up with the smell of rotting food in your bin? Just hate wasting things? The Rubbish Diet can help you sort out your rubbish once and for all.
The Rubbish Diet is the UK’s slimming club for bins. It’s all about learning from each other, so you can share what’s hard to get out of your bin and together we can find solutions and make it easier for everyone to slim their bin.
So how does it work…? The Rubbish Diet is a simple 2 step programme designed to help you slim your bin forever. You’ll receive handy emails with top tips and links tailored to your area to get you started. You then commit to looking in your bin to see what’s in there and we will identify ways to deal with each aspect of your waste. You’ll also get a recording sheet to help you keep track of your progress – so you can record the number of bags of rubbish you produce.
Once you follow the programme, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to slim your bin. In fact, most dieters end up reducing their waste by up to 70%! To find out more visit www.therubbishdiet.org.uk
The Rubbish Diet has launched a campaign to help shrink the size of West London’s Waste Train.
The West London Waste Train leaves London 6 days a week. It is 1/3 of a mile long and takes over 10 minutes just to pull out of the station. It is made up of 26 carriages holding 78 containers full of household waste from just 6 London boroughs – Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond. The train’s contents goes straight to landfill here in the UK.
The truly shocking thing about the West London Waste Train though is that 67% of its contents could have been recycled!
Check out the video of the team visiting the waste train.
