Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project will collect good quality unwanted furniture and household appliances from your home for a small charge of £10 for up to 5 items. You can also go to their showroom and buy these items. Click on the links below for more information.
Donating items
To donate items please call 020 8814 2225 or email donations@hounslowct.org.uk. They will ask about the items you are donating and arrange a collection date with you. Collections can be made between 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.00pm.
The furniture project will collect from homes in Hounslow, Spelthorne and Elmbridge.
The furniture accepted and made available to customers:
- Bed bases and frames
- Mattresses with a fire regulation label
- Wardrobes
- Bedside tables
- Dressing tables
- Tables and chairs
- Bookcases
- Sofas
- Fridges
- Freezers
- Washing machines
- Cookers
- Tumble dryers
- Dish washers
Not accepted or sold:
- Sofas and mattresses without the Fire Regulation label
- Stained or damaged furniture
- Small electrical items e.g. TVs
- Flat packed furniture
- Dismantled furniture
All items will be inspected before collection from your home. If the item is not in good condition it will not be collected.
Please note: there is a small charge of £10 for up to 5 items.
Buying Furniture
The prices vary according to size and quality. They stock a wide range of items that are still in good condition and will make a lovely addition to your home.
Go to the showroom to look around and choose the items you like.
If you want to take advantage of the best prices please take with you proof of benefits or a referral from an agency such as Hounslow Social Services.
All items are inspected before being placed in the showroom so only good quality items will be available for you. Electrical items will be tested by a qualified person to make sure they are safe and a guarantee is offered on electrical items.
If you buy any furniture it will be delivered to your home. There is a £10 delivery charge.

The showroom is a short walk from the H20, H37 and 267 bus routes.
Volunteering with us
Volunteers help keep the showroom open, collect furniture and make sure you get the most from your experience with them. If you would like to gain experience please contact them to ask if they have any vacancies for volunteers.
About the project
Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project is part of Hounslow Community Transport (HCT). Registered as a charity (number: 291410) since 1984 the furniture project was set up in 1993.
They are dedicated to providing high quality services on an equal basis to everyone within Hounslow borough and surrounding areas.
They offer furniture and household appliances to you at low prices to ensure you can afford the items you need.
Their services are dedicated to redistributing donated reusable furniture and electrical household appliances to those who may otherwise struggle to afford to furnish their homes.
